Josette started dancing at the age of 12 at Paul and Arlene Kennedy’s Universal Dance Designs in Los Angeles. Under their tutelage, she discovered her passion for stage and theater. Josette then moved on to dance as a member of Lynn Dally's Jazz Tap Ensemble in both the Caravan Project and the adult company from 1998 until 2007. Josette is a 2006 graduate of University of California, Los Angeles, with a BA in World Arts and Cultures. Her career highlights include winner of the 2001 Spotlight awards in non-classical dance category, the 1st National Tour of 42nd Street, the 2003 Rockette Christmas Spectacular, the movie Idlewild in 2005, and studying with Germaine Acogny in Toubab Dielaw, Senegal at the Ecole des Sables studio in 2006. In 2008, Josette was a soloist in the Women In Tap concert hosted at UCLA. Los Angeles Times dance critic, Lewis Segal says of Josette, “All hail… to Josette Wiggan for her take-no-prisoners attacks even at maximum complexity….”
In 2008, Josette was a Lester Horton Award nominee for “Outstanding Achievement in Performance” and In 2009 she danced in Disney's animated ?lm Princess and the Frog. Most recently, Josette has performed alongside her brother in the original casts of Cirque du Soleil's Banana Shpeel from 2009-2010 and Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour from 2011- 2013. While traveling, Josette is often an invited guest teacher and dancer in festivals around the world ranging from Debbie Allen's Dance Academy in Los Angeles, to festivals and workshops in Canada, Europe, and Asia. Currently, she resides in Tel Aviv, Israel and is performing throughout the city with the band Ron and the Red Beans.
